East Tosa has known this for years, and now the whole country is catching on. Cranky Al’s at 6901 W. North Ave landed at No. 47 on Yelp Elite’s list of the Top 50 Donut Shops in the US, one of only two Wisconsin shops to make the cut. Reviewers singled out the cronuts and strong coffee, and Yelp called out the scratch-made doughnuts and upbeat, community-driven vibe we get to enjoy every week. Co-owner Joey Carioti, who carries on the legacy of founders Susie and Al, gave all the credit to the neighborhood, telling the Journal Sentinel, “Without them, we are nothing.” Right back at you, Cranky Al’s.
