Shepherd Express just gave some well-deserved ink to Pipsqueak Wine at 6410 W. North Ave and the master behind it, Jonathan Blechman. Before landing on the Ave, Blechman spent more than a decade in New York’s wine world, including Lupa Osteria Romana, and served as a wine director in Seattle and Chicago. Now he and his wife, Heather Mitchell, have brought all of that experience home to East Tosa.

The piece digs into what makes the shop special: it’s both a wine shop and a wine bar, a dual setup Wisconsin allows that’s rare across the country, with curated bottles, cheese and charcuterie boards, and tapas to linger over.
