CBS 58 was there as dozens of neighbors cleaned up the Ave

When severe storms hit just days before Earth Day, this neighborhood did what it does best: it showed up. CBS 58 covered the Sunday morning clean-up along North Avenue, where dozens of volunteers hauled away storm debris and cleared leaves and trash out of storm drains to help prevent future flooding. The event was organized by East Tosa BID in partnership with Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful, and our board chair Anna Jarecki summed up the spirit of the day: “It’s our responsibility to keep our earth clean and ensure places around us are beautiful.”

Business owners were right in the mix too. Alyssa Matoska of Lyss and Littles Children’s Boutique told CBS 58 the clean-up is “impactful for not only the businesses, but the people that live in the area.” Best of all, this wasn’t a one-time thing. Clean-ups are becoming a monthly event with more community activities to come, so keep an eye out for the next one. Read the full story at CBS 58 →
