The biggest culinary story of the year on the Ave: Chef Zak Baker of Ca’Lucchenzo (6030 W. North Ave) was named a James Beard Award finalist for Best Chef: Midwest, one of the highest honors in American food. The award went elsewhere this year, but a finalist nod puts East Tosa’s pasta on the national map, and Zak is back in the kitchen doing what earned it.
